The Dominican Republic

A country of many assets.

The Dominican Republic has been able to develop a relatively well performing economy. (agriculture, oil refinery, textile, building materials ..). The health situation is one of the best among tropical countries. Everyone has access to the educational system (illiteracy is 17%). Telephone and Internet work very well ("Orange" built a network). You can find almost any product you want and the cultural life is very rich. The salaries are low, but the cost of living is very moderate, with the exception of the tourist zones.

A country on its way to the modern world

Since 1991 the National Product is growing with 8% a year and the building of infrastructure accelerates: new airports, free zones and motorways.

The number of airway connections increases as well as the number of visiting tourists. There are more than 20 flights daily from and to the USA, 10 regular flights weekly from Paris, France, and also regular connections with all the big cities (Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Genève, Frankfurt, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Havana, Montreal...)
Moreover, the tax system is very reasonable and favorable to foreign investors. The monetary traffic is less and less restricted, transferring foreign currencies does not give great problems and almost everywhere credit cards are accepted.
